Except the NFL (weekly matches), there are matches nearly every day during the season.
There are rarely tie results, so the bets are binary : won/lost. This is due either to the rules of the game (MLB), or to handicaps (NHL).
Too easy matches (firt team of the standings vs last one, for instance) are compensated by handicaps, which allows for good odds.
One may bet on the total of goals/points scored by the two teams.

Inconvenients :

In Europe, the rules of the games are hardly known, so it is difficult to make good statistics systems.
All interesting web sites are in English.
Some results are very sensitive to whether certain players are playing or not : pitcher for the MLB, quarterback for the NFL. However, this is less sensitive for the NBA and the NHL.
The theoritical rate of return is about 95%, reaching sometimes 97%.

Betting on European sports :

This includes almost exclusively football (soccer) (you can genrally bet also on non specifically European events, such as the vrious South American championships and international games).

Advantages :

In Europe, we know well the rules of the game.
There are many web sites in French.
One may bet on the exact score of a match, which allows for good odds.
The results are less sensitive than American sports to the presence of certain players or not.

Inconvenients :

Too easy matches (firt team of the standings vs last one, for instance) are not compensated by handicaps, so the odds are sometimes very low (however, some handicaps such as 0-1 ou 1-0 appear now).
There are three possible results : win home, tie, win away.
Generally, for championship, there is only one or two matches each week for each team.
The theoritical rate of return rarely goes beyond 90%.

And the other sports ?

Although American sports and soccer are the main betting offers, it is still possible to bet on other sports, such as Formula 1, tennis, cricket, rugby,...
